Volunteers - Steps to Applying

Your Volunteer Commitment

Isabella aks that volunteers commit at least 3 months or 100 hours of service. This period of time affords the volunteer the opportunity to make the most out of their invaluable contribution. Upon completion of service, volunteers will be eligible for letters of recommendation to school or potential employers.
To Apply:
  1. Fill out our online application:
      Individual Volunteers
      Group Volunteers
  2. Contact the Volunteer Department at 212-342-9351 or volunteer@isabella.org to schedule an interview. Interviews take about 20 minutes and are generally available Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, though other arrangements can sometimes be made if necessary. When you call, please have your preferred time ready so you can request it. If you are applying for a specific position seen on the NYC Service website or another volunteer opportunities website, please be sure to let your interviewer know what position that is and what website you saw the opportunity.
  3. After considering your application, interview and information gathered from the physical, a representative from the Volunteer Office will contact you to let you know if there is an opening available that fits your qualifications and interests. If so, you will be invited for an orientation which will last about 2 hours.
  4. Before you start your volunteer assignment you must submit a physical, completed within the last year, that is signed and stamped by your doctor. It must contain a vaccination history and a TB test. Many doctors already have their own form for this purpose, which is perfectly acceptable, or you may download our office's form.
  5. You must also submit a signed Photo Release Form to Volunteer Services, in person, by fax or by E-mail (scanned PDF).
